Murdock Stewart was a charter member of the Juneau Men's Igloo.

Stewart was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He came to the United States in 1878 and resided in San Francisco, California where he was married in 1882.

He first came to Alaska in 1898 and resided in Ketchikan and Juneau where he worked as a carpenter.
