Edwin Smith was a charter member of the Juneau Men's Igloo.

Smith was born in May 1849 in Ohio. He came to Alaska in April 1892.

He was Editor of the “Alaskan” Sitka newspaper, in Sitka 1897. He purchased William Millmore’s Mining Company in 1897.
