Biography

J. P. Corbus served as Treasurer of the Alaska Electric & Power Company.

The company's administrative officers included John F. Malony as President and Corbus as Treasurer. Under their leadership, the company installed new steam and hydroelectric generators in 1914, delivering electric power at rates between five and ten cents per kilowatt.

At that time, Juneau was among the most extensively electrified communities in Alaska. Only the Kennecott townsite in the Chitina Valley of south-central Alaska was electrified to a similar extent.
