Filipino Community 100-year Charter Anniversary

The Filipino community has a mostly unrecorded history in Juneau, spanning back over 100 years.

The Pioneers of Alaska Juneau Igloo wishes to work closer with FilCom on projects where our shared missions overlap, so we began this effort with a charter birthday gift of a decorated Christmas tree and wreath.

Filcom had to go to a second printing of the $10 tickets for the raffle, which was held at their December 9th meeting.

Rodini Roldan won the 14' lite wreath which featured iron reindeer ornaments purchased at the Santa Claus House in North Pole Alaska, Nora O. Carrillo won the 15" Christmas parol - a beautiful Philippine star light.

Catherine Cristobal donated the tree she won back to the FilCom so they can use it for their Christmas Party decorations. The 7.5-foot remote-guided LED-lite tree featured acorns, pinecones and squirrels and had a start that projected stars on the ceiling above it.
