The Igloo members went a vikinging to the Petersburg Mayfest, an excursion we are actively working on making an annual tradition. Our Viking horde grows each year in presence and stature.

In addition to walking in the parade along with the Juneau Sons of Norway Svalbard Lodge, President Brad Austin had the local Vikings asking to have their picture taken with him.

Our youngest member, Summer Putnam did us proud by easily winning the women’s division of the festivities newest contest - holding a rockfish over your shoulder. Our members also competed in the herring toss and rosemaling classes.
Alaska Historic Commission member, President Dorene Lorenz gave a presentation on historic preservation tax credits, and the benefits of getting historic districts listed on the National Historic Register.
Lorenz and Irene Gallon walked the Style Show in two classic Juneau bunabs hand embroidered by our Queen Cheryl Jebe. It was the first time the Juneau bunabs had been in the style show in this century.
We enjoy supporting and fellowshipping with the members of the Petersburg Igloo.
